BELONG, GROW, CELEBRATE

Putting on our annual day of service takes a village to put together, especially with the help of our planning committee. Throughout the year, our committee puts in the time and energy to assist with prep work, training, and carrying out our day-of needs. And the best past? This committee is open to all - undergraduate and graduate students. You too can be a part of the legacy!

JOIN OUR COMMITTEE TEAM

Being a member of the Big Event Planning Committee is a rewarding experience. Not only is it an opportunity to be a part of Texas State University's largest tradition, it also offers interpersonal growth, leadership development, and a support system on campus with students who share a common interest. As part of our committee, here are a few things you can expect:

Find a sense of belonging

Many committee members join with a passion to serve and leave with a tight-knit community of support. With our committee meetings, socials, service events, and team retreat, our team works hard to make sure you're seen, heard, and valued.

Responsibility and Ownership

Our committee is with on the ground making all prep and day-of needs happen, but there's a special task this year that will allow you to own your work and lead others: serve as Job Site Leaders on event day! Lead others in service, connect with our residents, and take the opportunity to make your impact in the community.

Year-Long Commitment

From team meetings, to volunteer recruitment, to job site evaluations and Tool Inventory, committee members are needed to make these efforts happen. We invite you to be fully engaged in all the things we do - and we promise it will be worth it!

Applications to be on the Big Event planning committee opens every August and will remain open for the full Fall semester until December 12, 2025. For questions, email bigevent@txstate.edu.
