JOB REQUESTS
Job requests for Bobcat Build's Big Event are OPEN! The event will take place on Saturday, April 5. Scroll down to learn more about being a jobsite and place your job requests today!
Every year, members of our community register as a jobsite in order for volunteers to come serve on our annual day of service. Resident or not, we are able to serve many within the Hays County region. More information about being a jobsite can be found below.
The Work We Do
Prior to Bobcat Build's Big Event, our team will perform in-person evaluations to go over all of your job requests, volunteer numbers, tools needed, and an overall assessment of what we can and cannot do. Requestors can select a date and time that works best for them to have this evaluatioin done in the request form.
On the day of our event, volunteers are sent into the community to spend a maximum of four hours completing various projects at their assigned jobsite. From residents to non-profits, to churches to schools, we serve a wide variety of individuals regardless of status. For many sites, requests normally consist of home beautification projects such as raking leaves, gardening, painting, window washing, and other home improvement projects.
In addition to serving our residents directly, we always look for ways to create impact through our non-profit organizations within Hays County. From serving meals to taking care of the environment, there are many ways for volunteers to positively impact our community.
We invite everyone to register as a site for Bobcat Build's Big Event! For any questions about requests or other potential projects for our volunteers to engage in, contact us at bigevent@txstate.edu.
Why We Serve
Thousands of volunteers within our Texas State community look forward to this day every year as it gives us the ability to give back and express our gratitude to the community that supports Texas State University. As you support Texas State University, we want to make sure the support is reciprocated.
It is important to remember that our success is not about the number of jobs completed or reaching record-breaking numbers; it is the relationship we create between students and community members that makes our event so memorable and impactful for both volunteers and the community.
