The Big Event

What is The Big Event?

The Big Event - formerly Bobcat Build - serves as one of Texas State's well-recognized traditions and the largest service project on campus. Hosted by Leadership and Service, The Big Event serves as a one-day event for the university community to come together and volunteer their time to engage in various service projects throughout the community at residents’ homes, local schools, parks, churches, and neighborhoods.

3,000 Volunteers

The Big Event started with approximately 700 volunteers and has grown to accommodate over 3,000 volunteers consisting of students, staff and faculty.

Thanks to our volunteers, the value of our volunteer impact towards our community continues to grow each year with impact values reaching over $7 million!
